5 Years of ANGVIS: How an Independent Label Grows

Naomi WalerysDecember 20258 min read

Five years ago, ANGVIS was nothing more than an idea and a name. No office, no team, no catalogue. Just a clear conviction from its founder, Aky, that independent electronic music artists deserved a platform built around quality, professionalism, and genuine support. Today, ANGVIS is a recognised label and artist platform operating from London and Paris, working with electronic music creators from around the world.

The Beginning

Achille Pezzini founded ANGVIS in London in 2020. The name derives from the Latin word for snake — a symbol of the connection between the human and divine worlds. That mythology felt right for what he wanted to build: a bridge between emerging artists and the wider industry. The early days were entirely a solo operation. He handled production, scouting, distribution, marketing, and contracts single-handedly. As he puts it:

“It was the only way to learn how every part of the machine works. You can’t lead a team through something you haven’t done yourself.”

Building the Foundation

The first releases were a test of everything — sound quality, release strategy, artist communication, marketing execution. Each one taught the team something new about what works and what does not. One principle emerged early and became central to how ANGVIS operates: work with artists who treat their music as a craft and their career as a business.

Growing the Platform

Over five years, ANGVIS expanded from a label into a full-service platform. It now offers music production support, marketing and promotion, distribution and licensing, and artist management. Each service was added because artists needed it — not because it looked good on a pitch deck. The team has grown too, with dedicated people handling publications, management, and day-to-day operations.

Lessons from Five Years

The music industry rewards consistency and patience more than it rewards hype. The artists and labels that last are the ones who show up every day, maintain high standards, and build real relationships. Too many projects launch with noise and disappear within a year. ANGVIS is still here because the focus has always been on substance over spectacle.

What’s Next

Five years is a milestone, but it is not the destination. ANGVIS Music Distribution has just launched. New sync licensing partnerships are active. The radio show continues to grow. The goal for the next five years remains the same as it was on day one: build a platform where independent electronic music artists can thrive on their own terms.

To every artist, collaborator, and listener who has been part of this journey so far ANGVIS is just getting started.
